Current Mentor and Social Chair

Meet our phenomenal volunteer, Daniel Moon! As a mentor, he attends weekly Saturday sessions throughout the school year to guide our mentees along the challenging journey of preparing for higher education. Daniel has been a role model who encourages students to achieve their dreams. Additionally, Daniel is our Social Chair and is actively involved in planning fun events that promote camaraderie and friendship at Minds Matter Bay Area!

What goes on during the Saturday sessions with the students you work with?
As a mentor, I support my mentees in applying to summer programs and reading their college essays during Senior year. But most importantly, I'm their biggest cheerleader.

How have you benefited personally from your experience at Minds Matter Bay Area?

Minds Matter Bay Area reignited my passion to serve students with backgrounds similar to mine who come from low-income households and will be the first in their family to attend college.
