HJ Seo

Sophomore Class Pod Leader

In honor of National Volunteer Week, we would like to introduce you to one of our amazing volunteers, HJ Seo! She joined Minds Matter as a Pod Leader for the Sophomore Class in 2022 and has contributed tremendously to our community. In her leadership role, HJ helps coordinate weekly Saturday sessions and ensures our students receive the support they need from MMBay. She has done an incredible job guiding mentoring session activities, facilitating discussions, and supporting the work of each mentor-mentee grouping.

What is a fun fact about you?

I dance Latin Ballroom in my free time.

What is your favorite part of Minds Matter?

Encouraging all the incredibly bright and ambitious students I work with to pursue their interests and goals, even if they think they don’t have the right experience, background, or financial ability.

What has been your favorite social event or gathering?

I loved spending a day at SFSU with the mentees. It was a day where the mentees got to pick their own adventures in exploring a college campus and it was wonderful witnessing them expressing their natural curiosity and interests.
