Meet Priscilla

Priscilla Lee

Mentor & Community Member

Meet our volunteer, Priscilla Lee! For the past four years, Priscilla has been a dedicated mentor for the students of Minds Matter San Francisco. On a weekly basis throughout the school year, she meets with our students to guide them along the difficult and challenging journey of preparing for higher education. This involves nurturing a strong and trusting relationship with students beginning from their sophomore year of high school. Our mentors act as role models to encourage students to achieve their dreams.

“The students of MMSF never cease to amaze me and inspire me to make a positive impact on my community.”

What Is Your Favorite Part of Minds Matter? The people. I've made incredible friendships with my past mentor and fellow volunteers. While I am building the relationship with my current two mentees now, my previous mentee and I continue to stay connected in her freshman year at Claremont McKenna. It has also been rewarding getting to know others in the community with values that align with my own. We have a great time together at the MMSF Gala at City Hall every year.

What Inspired You to Become a Mentor? I believe that college is capable of opening doors for low-income students that can change their lives. I know I benefited immensely from having my older sisters set stellar examples and traverse the college application process ahead of me. In an attempt to pay it forward, I find it rewarding to help my mentees find their passions and secure admissions to their dream colleges.
