Since 2010, we've committed ourselves to helping low-income, high achieving students in the Bay Area reach college success.

Our Story

Minds Matter of San Francisco is a chapter of the national Minds Matter organization. Since its founding in New York City in 1991, the effectiveness of Minds Matter has been affirmed – 100% of its students have been accepted into a four-year college. The organization has expanded to twelve cities nationwide, including Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, the Twin Cities and Washington D.C.

We at Minds Matter San Francisco are proud to be in our academic fifth year. Last year we celebrated our second cohort of seniors – 100% of whom were accepted into 4-year colleges. In the 2014-2015 academic year, we are serving 11 Senior, 21 Junior, and 23 Sophomore students from San Francisco public high schools. Our students participate in a rich set of programs including young professional mentorship, academic planning programs, MMSF-supported summer college programs for high school students, writing and critical thinking instruction and math instruction.
