Apply to Join Our Associate Board
Minds Matter San Francisco helps motivated, low-income high school students in the San Francisco Bay Area graduate from four-year colleges and achieve their dreams. Most of the students we serve are first in their family to attend college. With support from mentors and instructors, we help them build a great high school resume and college application to be admitted into selective colleges. In our 8-year history, 100% of our graduates have been admitted to four-year colleges.
Minds Matter San Francisco is recruiting for an all-new Associate Board this year. Over the years, we’ve had dozens of passionate supporters and former volunteers who share in our mission, but didn’t have the time to volunteer intensively. We have designed this new Associate Board specifically for that purpose, and centered it around fundraising. The Associate Board will be composed of committees based on events and business development needs, and committees will work closely with the CEO and President. As an Associate Board member, you will have a high-level view of the strategy and operations of running an established non-profit, and you will have the opportunity to work and network with a highly motivated team.
Event sales: promoting sponsorships to event, leveraging personal/professional networks, inviting key stakeholders and high-net-worth-individuals
Business development: sourcing, qualifying, and cultivating new relationships, and making introductions to the CEO or President
$2500 fundraising responsibility
Volunteer at a Saturday session twice / year
Time Commitment: 1 year term (renewable), committee meetings, attend 3 out of 4 Associate Board quarterly meetings (where committees will present their roadmap, pipeline, progress against key objectives)
Passion for Minds Matter’s mission and go-getter mentality
Highly proactive, communicative, reliable
Strong at relationship building and networking
Empathetic leader and influencer
Commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion:
Minds Matter of San Francisco serves low-income, high achieving students, underrepresented minorities from diverse backgrounds. We are committed to building an Associate Board that has a strong diversity narrative and reflects our mentees.
